James is a London based Director of Photography with over a decade of experience. Working between Feature films, TV Series (Amazon Prime & NETFLIX), Commercials (The Royal Navy), Music Videos (Atlantic Records) and Documentaries (NETFLIX).
James’ most recent feature film credits, as DOP & 2nd Unit DP, include: ‘Parallel’ starring James Cosmo (Braveheart & Game of Thrones), ‘Renegades’ starring Danny Trejo (Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett) and Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man), ‘Young Gun’ starring Alexis Rodney (Guardians of the Galaxy / Kick Ass 2) & ‘Fyre Rises’ starring Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight).
Some of James’ highlights have been shooting international commercials & content around the globe for The Royal Marines (Diego Garcia & Bahrain), Raleigh International (Costa Rica), Oslo Folk Theatre Phantom of the Opera (Norway) and feature ‘Fyre Rises’ (Lanzarote). James has also recently come back from shooting short film ‘MAXAKALI or The Dance of a Lifetime’ out in Lisbon.
Like many cinematographers, analog photography is where it all started for James, spending years dodging and burning 35mm film under the red lights of the dark rooms. James then branched out to digital, picking up the well known Canon 5D MKii and shooting his first short films & music videos for local bands up in Newcastle.
